Economic Survey 2025–26 reports Nagaland has launched 13 tourism projects, with strong tourist footfall recorded during Hornbill Festival 2025.

KOHIMA — With a focus on promoting tourism, Nagaland government has initiated 13 infrastructure and development projects across the state during 2025–26, supported by agencies including the Ministry of Tourism, North Eastern Council (NEC), state innovative programmes, and the state government.
This was stated in the Nagaland Economic Survey 2025–26 issued by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics and presented during the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly this month.
The report also highlighted tourist inflow during the Hornbill Festival 2025, held from December 1 to 10, which recorded a total footfall of 2,14,493.
This included 2,528 foreign tourists, 56,431 domestic tourists, and 1,55,534 local visitors from within Nagaland.
Overall, from January 1 to December 31, 2025, the state recorded 1,27,428 domestic tourists and 5,425 foreign tourists, according to official data.
