DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Tribal Hohos Coordination Committee (NTHCC) and the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to Naga unity and agreed to formally induct the eastern tribal hohos into the NTHCC until a common platform is established.
The resolution was adopted during the second consultative meeting between the two bodies held at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur and hosted by the ENPO.
According to a joint communiqué, the meeting deliberated extensively on issues concerning the “oneness of the Naga people” and resolved to work collectively on common Naga matters through mutual understanding, cooperation and shared responsibility while safeguarding the rights and aspirations of the people.

The meeting further resolved that the NTHCC would comprise representatives from 15 tribes of Nagaland—Angami, Ao, Chakhesang, Chang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Lotha, Phom, Pochury, Rengma, Sangtam, Sümi, Tikhir, Yimkhiung and Zeliang.
Leaders also selected Angami Public Organisation president Thejao Vihienuo as convenor of the committee, Yimkhiung Tribal Council president Throngso Yimkhiung as co-convenor, and Sümi Hoho president Dr. Vihuto Asumi as secretary.
The consultative body also appealed to the Nagas and Kukis in Manipur to pursue peaceful dialogue instead of confrontation and urged the immediate release of innocent hostages, stating that such acts were “against humanity”.
In addition, the meeting called upon the government of Nagaland to implement at the earliest the tripartite Memorandum of Agreement signed between the government of India, the government of Nagaland, and the ENPO.
