DIMAPUR — The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) on Friday held a joint meeting with all business establishments under its jurisdiction to discuss on installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in their respective shops.
An update from the council stated that the primary objective of the meeting was to enhance public safety, deter criminal activities and improve surveillance within the commercial areas. It stated that the council has emphasised the importance of proactive community collaboration in ensuring a safer environment for both business owners and the public.

Report stated that various suggestions were shared during the discussion to which the council has assured technical guidance and cooperation wherever necessary. It added that the business community has actively participated in the discussion and unanimously agreed to the proposal for installing CCTV cameras in their respective shops.
Meanwhile, the council has appreciated the positive response and responsible approach of the business community and looked forward to their continued cooperation in strengthening public safety measures across its jurisdiction.
