DIMAPUR — The Dume Sub-Council Zhavame, Phek district, celebrated 50 years of its formation on the theme, ‘Revering our past, building tomorrow’ at the village’s public amphitheatre on Friday.
The Dume clan comprises three khels - Krocha, Dukru and Movi.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Power KG Kenye, in his written message, noted that the occasion marked the realisation of the dreams of the founding members and extended his best wishes to all the members of the sub-council.

“Attaining 50 years of existence is a historic milestone and it is a time to introspect and retrospect the past achievements, failures and challenges faced by the council during the course of its journey,” the message read.
Kenye further added that it is also a time to set higher goals and strive harder to bring all round development to the village community and the society at large.
Sarhünyi Dukru, chief patron of the golden jubilee and Zao Krocha, Zhavame Village Council chairman addressed the gathering.
Folk songs and dances were presented by Dume women, Dume youth and menfolk.
