DIMAPUR — The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Longleng, Alongdhimen Jamir, has issued an order restricting the movement of vehicles in the public ground at Longleng to ensure public safety, safeguard public property, and regulate its proper use for designated activities.

The order prohibits the entry and movement of all vehicles, including two-wheelers and four-wheelers, and the practice or learning of driving inside the ground. Vehicular entry and exit will only be permitted through designated side routes identified by the local administration.

According to a DIPR report, the directive applies to all individuals, departments, institutions and agencies, covering private, commercial and government vehicles, unless prior written permission is obtained from the office. Violators will face penal action under the relevant provisions of the law, which may include fines, seizure of vehicles, and other measures deemed fit by the competent authority.

The public ground has been reserved primarily for sports, recreational, cultural, and official government functions. No unauthorised activities will be allowed. The order will remain in force until further notice, with any relaxation to be notified by the office.
