  • IMPHAL — In an effort to reduce use of single-used plastics (SUP), the department of Environment and Climate Change and Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB), in collaboration with Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC), organised an awareness programme on Sunday at Uripok and Khwairamband Keithel, main market in Imphal, wherein reusable cloth bags were distributed to vendors and shoppers.

  • On the other hand, the colleges are also taking up awareness programmes in connection with the enforcement of the ban on SUP. A series of campaigns on the theme "Elimination of single use plastics on school campus" are also being held in the state after the state government announced an enforcement ban of single-used plastic items in the state from April 15 onwards.
