Maharashtra, Mizoram play out thrilling 3–3 draw
DIMAPUR — At the ongoing Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier-II), hosted by Nagaland at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium, Group D matches on Sunday saw Madhya Pradesh secure a dominant win over Himachal Pradesh, while Maharashtra and Mizoram shared points in a closely contested draw.
Madhya Pradesh, playing against Himachal Pradesh, took an early lead when Trusha P (jersey no. 3) scored in the 6th minute. The side in red continued to dominate, and in the 14th minute, Nitya (jersey no. 7) doubled the advantage.
Madhya Pradesh maintained control of the game, while Himachal Pradesh’s goalkeeper Abisriya made key saves at the 34th and 43rd minutes. Komal (jersey no. 9) added the third goal for Madhya Pradesh at the 45th minute.

In the second half, Madhya Pradesh continued to control possession. Kamal (jersey no. 9) missed a chance in the 59th minute, but Bhariga (jersey no. 6) scored the fourth goal in the 75th minute, assisted by Trusha P.
In stoppage time, Akshra (jersey no. 5) completed the scoring with the fifth goal after 90 minutes plus four added minutes.
Himachal Pradesh, who committed four fouls and held only 38% possession, were unable to find a breakthrough. Madhya Pradesh finished with five different goal scorers and recorded a convincing 5–0 win, strengthening their position as strong contenders in the championship.

Maharashtra, Mizoram share points
Match four of the championship between Maharashtra and Mizoram ended in a 3–3 draw at Chümoukedima.
Both teams had equal possession at 50%. Maharashtra recorded nine shots on target and eight off target, while Mizoram had seven on target and one off target.
Maharashtra opened the scoring in the 6th minute through Aanshi (jersey no. 14) and extended their lead in the 30th minute via Aarna (jersey no. 11). Mizoram reduced the deficit in first-half stoppage time with a goal from Nunpuii (jersey no. 7) in the 45+4' minute.
In the second half, Mizoram equalised through Mawipuii (jersey no. 11) in the 72nd minute. Maharashtra regained the lead when Aanshi scored her second goal in the 90+4' minute. Mizoram responded immediately, with Loisy (jersey no. 18) scoring in the 90+6' minute to level the match.
Maharashtra committed eight fouls and Mizoram nine. Both sides received one yellow card. Maharashtra won six corners compared to Mizoram’s two, while Mizoram were caught offside nine times against Maharashtra’s one.
The match ended with both teams earning a point each after a competitive display.
