The outgoing executive secretary, Rev. Khonbemo P Kikon, was also honoured during the programme, which was held on the theme “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rangthang expressed gratitude to God and the LBCA for the trust placed in him. Rev. Kikon, who served as executive secretary since August 4, 2022, reflected on his tenure and shared that his efforts were guided by a desire for reconciliation among divided churches. He stated that his service was not for personal gain but to promote unity. He also highlighted key developments and financial aspects of LBCA’s journey during his term.
Delivering the sermon, Dr. Amos Humtsoe spoke on God’s love for the Lotha community and urged churches to embrace forgiveness and unity. He cautioned that continued division could hinder opportunities for youth and future generations and called for humility, mutual respect and collective effort in walking with God’s guidance.
