DPDB Tuensang meeting discusses rising drug concerns, departmental activities and World Environment Day initiatives.

DIMAPUR — The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Tuensang held its monthly meeting at the DC’s conference hall, Tuensang, on Thursday under the chairmanship of Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, deputy commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Tuensang.
According to a DIPR report, after reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the board discussed and recommended the registration of Saoshoung Chipen Society Tuensang.
During the discussion hour, Dr. Akash Sinha, SDPO Tuensang, highlighted the present scenario of drug trafficking in the district and said that the department is striving towards reducing the demand for drugs in the district.
Sharing concerns over the drug problem in the district, SP Tuensang Longpoksang Lumtur said ignorance and the availability of cheap drugs online and at medical stores are major concerns.

He urged the church, NGOs, and civil societies to play a greater role in curbing the usage and influx of drugs in the district.
Dr. N Wopenthung Odyuo, CVO Tuensang, highlighted the insurance scheme under the National Livestock Mission (NLM) 2025-2026.
The deputy commissioner requested departments in the district to take the initiative in cleaning drives and plantation of saplings during World Environment Day in the district.
Rutsa entrusted the PHED and SP Cyber Crime, Tuensang, to present their departmental activities at the next meeting.
