DPDB meetings in Zunheboto, Noklak and Meluri focus on development plans and scheme approvals.

DIMAPUR — District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings were held on Wednesday in Zunheboto, Noklak and Meluri districts, focusing on development planning, scheme approvals and local priorities.
Zunheboto: According to a DIPR report, in Zunheboto, the DPDB meeting was held at the DC conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dharam Raj, in the presence of Deputy Speaker, NLA, and Chairman DPDB, Zunheboto, S Toiho Yeptho; Advisor for Food and Civil Supplies, KT Sukhalu; and MLA, Dr. Sukhato A Sema.
On the occasion, the DC presented an action plan to achieve Viksit Zunheboto by 2047. He emphasised and urged the members present to be dedicated and sincere towards their work. He also presented various schemes and programmes undertaken by the central and state governments that are being implemented in the district.
Chairman Yeptho, in his speech, appreciated the DC for preparing a comprehensive plan to achieve a developed Zunheboto by 2047. He also suggested that Zunheboto Government College, being the only government college in the town, should venture into an integrated B.Ed course and also tie up with reputable private institutions to introduce a Bachelor of Science course.
He raised the issue of drugs and alcohol in the district and suggested to the DC and SP to activate the District Liquor and Narcotics Committee and take an active role in stopping the inflow of alcohol and drugs into the district.
District Programme Manager (NHM), Rosemary Vitoli, presented the updated district health profile of the Chief Medical Office, Zunheboto.

The programme was followed by the approval of the LADP scheme 2025–2026, iconic projects, and PowerPoint presentations by various departments of Zunheboto district.
Noklak: The Noklak DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of MLA and Chairman DPDB Noklak, P Longon, at the DC conference hall, during which the house reviewed the previous meeting minutes and took up various agendas.
The members discussed the construction of a school gate at Straightway Mission School, ITC, Dan, and the construction of a sub-centre in Tukhinkiu village.
The house also discussed the construction of a road from Pang to Tukhinkiu village and the creation of sub-centres at Jejeiking village and Noklak village. LADP schemes for 56 A/C Noklak and 57 A/C Thonoknyu for the financial year 2025–26 were also approved by the house.
The MLA and chairman of the DPDB directed all the heads of offices under the Noklak district to be present during future DPDB meetings.
Meluri: The Meluri DPDB meeting was chaired by the Advisor for New and Renewable Energy and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe.
After reviewing the previous meeting minutes, the following agendas were discussed and recommended: creation of an Employment and Skill Development Office; upgradation of Phokhungri EAC Headquarters; upgradation of CHC Meluri to District Hospital; upgradation of Sub-Divisional Education Office to District Education Office; upgradation of BDO Meluri to DRDA Meluri; upgradation of junior engineer (Electrical) to executive engineer (Electrical); upgradation of AIR transmission from 100 MHz to 1000 MHz at Meluri headquarters; and upgradation of veterinary assistant surgeon to CVO.
The board also finalised and approved the LADP 2025–2026.
Dr. Shipathu Thupitor, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, and Dr. Nüsa Lohe, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, gave a PowerPoint presentation on the departmental activities of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry.
Tseminyu DPDB meeting scheduled
Meanwhile, District Planning Officer and Member Secretary DPDB, Tseminyu, Meyikokba Jamir, has informed all the concerned members that the monthly DPDB meeting of Tseminyu has been scheduled for July 21 at the DC conference hall.
