Don Bosco College Kohima hosts 9th Gratitude Day, honouring outgoing 6th semester students.

DIMAPUR — In honour of the outgoing 6th semester students, Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK) on Monday organised 9th Gratitude Day at the college premises.
The event, serving as a fitting tribute to the graduating batch was attended by special invitee Dr. Keyiesetuo Stephen Vizo, governing body member of DBCK, an update stated.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vizo urged upon the graduates to reject the notion that they already know everything, as “learning is a continuous process.”
He also called upon the students to focus on self-reliance and building independent livelihoods to ensure their long-term security and success.
Fr. Dr. Tious Varghese, Principal, DBCK, praised the outgoing 6th semester students for their successful academic career and urged upon them to live by the motto “Duty and joy.”
He also encouraged them to carry a spirit of service and integrity into their future.

Speaking on behalf of the faculties, Dr. Lanukumla Ao (Assistant Professor, Department of History) expressed her gratitude to the 6th semester students for their energy and curiosity over the past three years.
She emphasised that success is measured by character rather than grades and urged the students to carry the Bosconian values of integrity and compassion into the world.
Speaking on behalf of the outgoing 6th Semester students, Tühafi Sharu of the Department of Botany shared their three-year journey that transformed nervous strangers into a unified family.
She thanked the faculties for stretching the students’ potential and guiding them through every challenge.
While physically leaving, she emphasised that they depart with unbreakable bonds and the lasting values of their alma mater.
A solemn and symbolic highlight of the programme was the “Carry your candle” ceremony led by Fr. Mattam Xavier, signifying the passing of knowledge, hope and responsibility as students lit candles and received blessings from their department faculties.
A heartfelt performance on gratitude was also presented by Elizabeth (2nd semester, Department of English).
The programme was chaired by Thangle Kath (4th Semester, Department of History) while Phivito Swu (4th Semester, Department of History) invoked God’s blessings.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Ravono Chasie (4th semester, Department of Psychology).
