DIMAPUR — Councillor Nzanbeni Humtsoe, member of the Sanitation Branch, Dimapur Municipal Council, conducted an official inspection in Ward No. 16, Kevijau Colony, Dimapur, on Saturday to check the sale and distribution of expired food items and consumer goods.
According to an update, she was accompanied by members of the Kevijau Youth Organisation led by its president.
It said that this action was carried out in the interest of public health, hygiene, and consumer safety and was preventive and corrective in nature.
Various retail outlets and vendors were inspected, and spot checks were conducted to identify expired or unsafe consumables. Vendors found in violation were cautioned and advised to comply with applicable health and safety regulations.
“This initiative was taken solely to protect public health and to ensure adherence to municipal and consumer protection laws,” it concluded.
