District Water and Sanitation Mission meetings in Tseminyu and Kiphire review Jal Jeevan Mission progress, SBM-G status, and waste management.

DIMAPUR — The District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) held meetings in Tseminyu and Kiphire districts on Wednesday.
In Tseminyu, the meeting was held at the DC office conference hall, where Japheth Woch, deputy commissioner and chairman of DWSM Tseminyu, highlighted that the inclusion of representatives from various departments is essential under the convergence framework of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, according to a DIPR report.
He requested the line departments to specify tasks for data submitted to the nodal department, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), to ensure comprehensive updating of the JJM and Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) dashboard.
Woch further directed the PHED to speed up the certification process of Har Ghar Jal villages and the declaration of Open Defecation Free (ODF) plus model villages in the district. He also spoke on the need to operationalise and manage the plastic waste management units installed at Tseminyu and Chunlikha blocks.

Data regarding water coverage status in Anganwadi centres, schools, and health centres were submitted by the Social Welfare, School Education, and Health and Family Welfare departments, respectively.
In Kiphire, the DWSM committee meeting was held at the DC office under the chairmanship of Temsuwati Longkumer, deputy commissioner and chairman of DWSM Kiphire.
The meeting was convened to review the overall progress and current status of the mission in the district.
