A meeting of the District Task Force for Immunisation was held in Mokokchung to discuss routine immunisation.

DIMAPUR — A meeting of the District Task Force for Immunisation (DTFI) was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Ajay Moktan in Mokokchung on Friday.
Dr. MAH Azhar, Surveillance Medical Officer (SMO), World Health Organisation (WHO), presented on the vaccine-preventable surveillance and Measles and Rubella (MR) elimination update before the members present, stated an update.
He also highlighted the performance of Mokokchung district on routine immunisation and the status of zero dose: Pending Zero Dose (PZD), MR-1, and MR-2. He further recommended strengthening and maintaining high-quality and sensitive Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) surveillance as a way towards MR elimination.

While discussing district performance, Dr. Limanaro, District Programme Officer (DPO) (Universal Immunisation Programme and Reproductive and Child Health), pointed out that the district indicators have shown improvement and encouraged all members to coordinate and put in continual efforts.
She further shared that, in order to address missed-out and drop-out cases, healthcare workers have been undertaking continual home visits to vaccine-hesitant parents, addressing various vaccine queries and fears.
The meeting was attended by a consultant from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), allied departments, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) members, the TATTVA Foundation, and CMO staff.
