DIMAPUR — District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings were held in Tseminyu and Kiphire districts on March 17 to discuss various developmental activities.
Tseminyu: In Tseminyu, as part of Jal Mahotsav, the DPDB meeting-cum-District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) meet was held at the DC’s conference hall.
According to a DIPR report, Deputy Commissioner of Tseminyu Japheth Woch welcomed all the members present and reviewed the last meeting minutes.

Discussing the status of fuel in the district, the deputy commissioner informed that there is no shortage of fuel. While deliberating on LPG, he stated that the district has two gas agencies and reminded that all bookings must be done online.
Briefing on the Nagaland Olympics and Paralympics Games 2026, he urged the members to come forward with free-will contributions and financial support to promote sports in the district.
The keynote address on Jal Mahotsav was delivered by Executive Engineer and member secretary of DWSM Kedolhuto Punyu. Meanwhile, a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the activities of Jal Mahotsav, Jal Arpan Diwas, Jal Seva Aankahan and Jan Bhagidari was presented by District Coordinator Ashale Seb.
Later, DC Woch handed over a waste collection truck to Tesophenyu and Kandinu villages.
Kiphire: In Kiphire, the DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Temsuwati Longkumer at the DC’s conference hall.
Deliberating on the agendas of the day, the house recommended the application of the Pencak Silat Association requesting the registration of the society to the concerned department after the representative of the association justified it to the house.
EAC Development Takatemjen Pongen highlighted the awareness-cum-sensitisation programme of the Minority Affairs department scheduled to be held on March 19 at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire. He also elaborated on various schemes and other activities of the department.
The EAC further informed that under the PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme, the Department of Higher and Technical Education is providing education loans and scholarships to meritorious students to reduce dropouts. He also reminded all the members of the District Skill Committee to submit their action plan proposal targets at the earliest.
The proposal for the upgrade of Mission School, Kiphire town, was justified by the district education officer of Kiphire and was later approved and forwarded to the higher authority for consideration.
The action plan on the Sampoornata Abhiyaan 2.0 campaign drive in Khongsa block (ABP) and Kiphire district (ADP) was presented by ABF and Development Partner Lithsaba Sangtam.
SCK - IDAN Kiphire highlighted the state-wide mega job fair scheduled to be held on March 21 at IBHIC, Dimapur, organised by the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM) under IDAN in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Kohima. It was informed that the Transport department (Nagaland State Transport) will provide transportation for the programme.
The board also recommended the proposal for the correction of the village name from "Tuthuyo" to “Tethuyo” after a justification statement made by the village council chairman and representatives of the village at the meeting.
