The Directorate of Economics and Statistics in Kohima holds training for operators to streamline Aadhaar registration for children aged 0-5.

DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Economics and Statistics conducted a training session for Aadhaar operators on Aadhaar registration for children in the 0-5 age group at the conference hall of the Directorate in Kohima on Tuesday.
Addressing the inaugural session, Neidilhou Keditsu, Director of Economics and Statistics, highlighted the importance of the department’s role in streamlining birth registration by integrating Aadhaar enrolment for children in the 0-5 years age group.
According to a DIPR report, Keditsu urged the Aadhaar operators to ensure the successful implementation of the birth registration-based Aadhaar enrolment initiative.

The training programme was chaired by Nzanbemo Kithan, Economics and Statistics Officer, while a technical hands-on training session was conducted by Telalou Mero, Economics and Statistics Officer, and Achumi Odyuo, Inspector of Statistics.
Aadhaar registration for children is currently operational at the Directorate of Economics and Statistics in Kohima. To extend the reach of this service, it will be made available in all the district Economics and Statistics offices across the state.
The required documents for this service are the digitised birth certificate of the child and the Aadhaar number of a parent.
The department encouraged the public to come forward and register their children for Aadhaar at the district offices as well as at the directorate.
