
Karbi Anglong with the seized contraband and two accused.
- DIPHU — In a
significant bust, the Karbi Anglong police seized approximately 2.977 kilograms
of morphine, valued at around INR 1.5 crore in the illicit market, during a
routine check at the Dillai police checkpoint on May 20 around 10:30 pm.
- The contraband was recovered from a LP truck (NL-07AA-2238)
originating from Dimapur, with the morphine concealed in six plastic-wrapped
packets. Two individuals, Aishek Gurung (21) from Senapati district, Manipur,
and Moayanger Jamir (20) from Dimapur, Nagaland, were taken into custody for
further interrogation.

- According to officials, the narcotics were transported from
Manipur and were en route to Bokajan when intercepted. The seizure and
verification were conducted under the supervision of the Additional
Superintendent of Police and Bokajan SDPO, Rustum Raj Brahma.
