Dimapur Yachem Bühü Pangthai celebrates Moonyiü

KOHIMA — On the fifth day of the Phom Moonyiü festival, the Dimapur Yachem Bühü Pangthai organised a special Moonyiü programme at its morung, located at the residence of former Minister of Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom, in Eralibill village, Dimapur.
According to an update, the event was hosted by gazetted officers of Yachem residing in Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion as a special guest, S Yongchang Phom, Director of Agriculture, exhorted the gathering to uphold the spirit of togetherness, hospitality towards others, and the will to serve a common cause for the betterment and progress of society.
He also called upon the young people to carry forward the good legacy of their elders and be more vigilant and confident in taking on any responsibility to bring about holistic changes in all aspects.
The significance of the festival was explained by C Hamba Nemdakly, while the welcome address was delivered by Dimapur Yachem Bühü Pangthai president O Yanger Phom.
Dimapur Yachem Anüti Lunglak presented a modern rendition of a folk song, and an act play on Ajibangkhüm, the origin of Moonyiü, was demonstrated by the Dimapur Yachem Students' Union.
