A Dimapur woman identified as Savita Devi died under suspicious circumstances at her residence, with police taking her husband into custody for interrogation.

DIMAPUR — A mother of three died under suspicious circumstances after being brought to a hospital in a critical condition and later declared dead, with strangulation suspected in the case.
The incident occurred at her residence in Ragailong colony in Burma Camp area of Dimapur on the evening of January 3. The deceased has been identified as Savita Devi.
Her husband, Sunil Das, has been taken into police custody for interrogation in connection with the incident.
Police said that an FIR has been registered at Women Police Station, Dimapur, and the accused remains in custody as the investigation continues.
A post-mortem examination was conducted at District Hospital, Dimapur, following which the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
Police declined to share further details at this stage as the investigation is ongoing.
