A thatch house was gutted in a fire at Kuda village, C-Khel, causing an estimated Rs 8 lakh property loss.

DIMAPUR — A thatch house was completely gutted in a fire that broke out at Kuda village, C-Khel, Dimapur, on the evening of October 4.
Central Fire Station personnel said they received a distress call at around 8:14 p.m. and immediately dispatched two fire tenders along with fire personnel to the site.
The teams reached the location at around 8:23 p.m., while another fire tender from the West Fire Station also joined the firefighting operation.
According to fire officials, the blaze was suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. The fire destroyed a Bajaj Chetak scooter, a Royal Enfield motorcycle, a computer, a printer and other household belongings.

Eight five-day-old puppies were also reported to have perished in the fire.
The fire also affected two neighbouring houses, although the damage was minor.
The estimated property loss was put at approximately INR 8 lakh. Fire personnel said their timely intervention prevented the blaze from spreading to other nearby houses and surrounding areas.
