- DIMAPUR — The
Dimapur Rengma Students' Union (DRSU) has pledged support to the Dimapur Naga
Students' Union (DNSU) in its call for the immediate and strict implementation
of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Dimapur.
- In a press statement, the union said that the unchecked
influx of non-locals and lax ILP enforcement pose a significant threat to the
identity, culture, and future of indigenous Naga communities.
- The DRSU stressed that safeguarding the unique traditions,
customs, and land rights of the Naga people must be the state government’s top
priority. Delaying ILP enforcement would amount to neglect of the people’s
constitutional rights under Article 371A.

- The union urged other tribal bodies and civil society
organisations to unite in this cause.
- “We stand firm in our resolve to protect our heritage and
assert our rights. The time for action is now, and we will not be silenced. We
demand that the state government take concrete steps to enforce the ILP,
safeguard our identity, and uphold the constitutional rights of the Naga
people,” it read.
