DIMAPUR — Power defaulters and power thieves in Dimapur are set to face strict action from February 5, with the Department of Power announcing a sustained crackdown on unpaid electricity bills and illegal power use across the district.
The Electrical Division, Dimapur, on Thursday informed that it will launch a district-wide disconnection drive for non-payment of electricity dues, alongside raids against meter tampering, hooking and unauthorised load alterations.
The drive will cover all categories of consumers, including electricity-communitised villages, and will continue on a regular basis until further orders.
In a public notice, the department said that the action will be carried out without further notice from February 5.

Consumers with pending dues have been urged to clear their electricity bills within the stipulated time to avoid disconnection.
The department also advised consumers facing discrepancies or grievances related to billing to approach their respective Sub-Divisional Officer (Electrical) offices—SDO -I, II or III—for clarification at the earliest.
To facilitate easier payments, the department encouraged consumers to use the online payment system by logging in to the official website www.dopn.gov.in with their Consumer ID to view and pay electricity bills.
The department reiterated that continued non-compliance would invite strict action, including disconnection and penalties as per existing rules.
