Dimapur: Minor harassed, accused absconding after fresh FIR

DIMAPUR — In a disturbing incident, a non-local man has been accused of sexually harassing a 15-year-old girl on September 25 at Fellowship colony, Dimapur.

According to police, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint against the accused, identified as Abjal Hussian, at the Women Police Station the same day.

However, the case was reportedly compromised between the victim’s family and the accused, resulting in the withdrawal of the complaint and his subsequent release.

On September 26, the victim’s mother filed a fresh FIR at the Women Police Station after reconsidering the decision. Police said the accused is currently absconding and efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.
