DIMAPUR — The District Employment Exchange (DEE), Dimapur, under the Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland, organised a mega job fair at its office in Purana Bazar on June 19, providing employment opportunities for educated unemployed youth in the private sector.
The job fair was conducted in collaboration with Talent Acquaintance, Dimapur, and AIDA–Don Bosco Job Placement Network, India, according to a DIPR report.
More than 1,200 vacancies were offered by a leading healthcare business process outsourcing (BPO) company based in Bengaluru.
Candidates between 18 and 32 years of age with qualifications ranging from Higher Secondary (10+2) and diploma to graduation (excluding BE/B.Tech) were eligible to participate.
Addressing the gathering, District Employment Officer (DEO) Dimapur, Gideon Sumi, stressed the need for a change in the mindset of educated youth and parents towards private sector employment.
He said government jobs alone could no longer accommodate the growing number of educated job seekers and encouraged youth to explore opportunities in the private sector.

Sumi said the job fair was aimed at bridging the gap between employers and job seekers through partnerships with placement agencies and companies.
He informed that the employment package offered an annual salary of around INR 3.25 lakh, with a starting monthly salary of approximately INR 30,000, along with several additional benefits.
Expressing concern over candidates returning home after securing employment due to homesickness, food preferences, or climatic differences, Sumi said the government had introduced measures to monitor placements and ensure greater accountability among private placement agencies.
He also appealed to parents to support their children in taking up employment opportunities outside the state, stating that exposure to different work environments would help build experience, confidence, and long-term career growth.
He urged youth to view employment outside Nagaland as an opportunity and make the best use of such platforms to build successful careers.
According to the organisers, selected candidates will be posted in Bengaluru, where they will handle customer interactions, resolve queries, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Employees will also receive benefits including free two-way cab facilities, family health insurance, performance-based incentives, rotational shifts, promotion opportunities, night shift allowances, reimbursement of train fare, seven days of hotel accommodation, and weekly offs on Saturdays and Sundays.
