DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Lotha Hoho (DLH) has appealed to the Nagaland Public Works Department (Road and Bridges) to issue the phase II work orders for the remaining untouched divisions of the Nagaland Foothills Road Project before the dry working season ends.
In a press statement, the hoho stated that this is necessary to complete the two-lane Foothills Road before venturing into a mega four-lane National Highway project, keeping in view the earlier assurance given by the minister of PWD (R&B) to complete the whole project by 2027.

The hoho lauded the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), the Government of Nagaland under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the 10 tribal hohos for their initiative in formalising the Nagaland Foothills Road connecting Tizit in the Mon district to Dimapur in 2013.
It also lauded the chief minister's proposal to extend the road up to Khelma in the Peren district, covering a distance of almost 400 km. It noted that despite resource challenges, the state government secured SASCI loan funding for the ongoing two-lane construction under phase I, which is on the verge of completion.
Further, in view of the pertaining issue, the Dimapur Lotha Hoho reiterated the memorandum submitted to the chief minister on February 21, 2026, by the 13 Dimapur apex tribal hohos.
