The first instalment of Dimapur Government College’s Students’ Welfare Fund for the 2026–27 session has been disbursed to selected beneficiaries.
DIMAPUR — The first instalment of the Students’ Welfare Fund (SWF) for the academic session 2026–27 was disbursed to the selected beneficiaries on Wednesday at Dimapur Government College (DGC).
According to an update, the programme was led by Anungla Aier, Convener of the Students’ Welfare Fund and Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Economics.
Congratulating the beneficiaries, Aier informed them that the welfare fund is contributed by the teachers themselves to support students who are genuinely in need.
She also recalled the special scholarships instituted by two pioneer families associated with the college in memory of their family members – the S. K. Dutta (Kaloo) Award, sponsored by Neena Dutta, and the Jaigopal Anand Scholarship, sponsored by Narinder Anand.

She reminded students to maintain good attendance and avoid backlogs, as failure to meet the required criteria could result in the forfeiture of the second instalment of the fund, scheduled for February 2027. Students were urged to make the best use of the support, work harder, remain regular in class, and strive for excellence, sincerity, and honesty in their studies.
Dr. Vinyuhu Lhoungu, IQAC Coordinator, acknowledged the Students’ Welfare Committee for their dedication and efforts in facilitating the disbursement of the fund.
He also highlighted the college’s various student-support initiatives, including free computer courses, and spoke about the support extended by alumni and well-wishers towards assisting students in need.
