Dimapur Dibuia Students' Union celebrates golden jubilee on October 2.

DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Dibuia Students' Union (DDSU) commemorated its golden jubilee (1975-2025) on October 2.
An update from the union stated that the event served as an occasion to reflect on five decades of service, academic excellence and community building, while also setting a forward-looking vision for holistic growth and empowerment of the youth.
The guest speaker and joint secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Bendanglila, who spoke on the theme of ‘Holistic growth,’ laid emphasis on the significance of balanced development encompassing physical, mental and emotional dimensions. She stressed that cultivating strong moral values including honesty, integrity and love are prerequisite for a meaningful life.
She also highlighted the importance of continuous learning, building confidence and developing a strong work ethic to contribute for a productive community.

Drawing inspiration from 1 Corinthians 13:11, a retired IFS officer, Imliyanger Tzudir, urged the students to transform from childish behaviour and embrace intellectual maturity and to actively contribute their skills and knowledge for the betterment of society.
He further challenged them to recognise their potential to make a difference and to strive for greater achievements, both personally and collectively.
The president of Ao Students’ Union Dimapur (ASUD), Imnatemsu Pongen, has acknowledged the contributions of DDSU towards the union in various social and cultural initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Afong Walling, president of the Dimapur Dibuia Senso Telongjem, encouraged the younger generation to emulate the dedication and perseverance of their elders, who, in the nascent years of DDSU, strived for education and success.
Also speaking on the occasion, the president of Dibuia Students’ Union, Ayudi Longkumer, acknowledged the academic track record of students from the village, noting the numerous achievements in HSLC, HSSLC and university examinations.
On account of the golden jubilee, DDSU has pledged to take up two projects for the benefit of the village. According to the convenor of jubilee resolution committee, T Toshi Aier, the pledge included an initiative to establish a park at the Longrapenlichen Tourist Centre Project in Dibuia, focusing on the village’s biodiversity especially the preservation of wild fruits and wild flowers, unique to the area. The other initiative related to educational and career development. To empower its students, DDSU would conduct educational, career guidance and counseling seminars every two years. It would also provide financial assistance to those aspiring to appear in competitive exams like the NSSB, NPSC, UPSC and SSC.
Meanwhile, the convenor of jubilee planning committee, Oyimpong Longchar, has lauded all the units under Dimapur Dibuia Senso Telongjem and all the members of jubilee planning committee for their tireless support and selfless sacrifice in making the celebration a success.
