DDMA Dimapur has restricted the movement of 10-wheeler and other heavy vehicles on NH-29 and NH-02 due to road damage caused by incessant rainfall.
DIMAPUR — In view of the deteriorating road infrastructure caused by incessant rainfall, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dimapur, has imposed restrictions on the movement of 10-wheeler and other heavy motor vehicles carrying loads beyond the permissible limit on National Highway-29 and National Highway-02 with immediate effect until further orders.
The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of DDMA, Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, stated that the measure has been taken to ensure public safety, prevent traffic congestion, and minimise damage to roads and other public infrastructure.
According to the order, the movement of 10-wheeler and other heavy vehicles will not be permitted on the notified stretches of NH-29 and NH-02 during the restriction period.

However, if such movement is unavoidable, prior permission must be be obtained from the competent authority.
The DDMA has directed the Traffic Police, Police Department, and other enforcement agencies to ensure strict implementation of the order.
It also warned that any person found violating the directive will be liable for action under the applicable rules and regulations.
The order will remain in force until further orders, and all vehicle owners, transporters, drivers, and operators have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
