The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has condemned the recent acts of vandalism, lawlessness, and illegal monetary demands on its members.
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has condemned the recent acts of vandalism, lawlessness, and illegal monetary demands on members of the business community in Dimapur, asserting that such actions create fear, disrupt normal business operations, and undermine the rule of law.
While reiterating that it does not endorse or support any form of illegal business activities, the DCCI also stated that no individual or organisation has the authority to take the law into their own hands.
“Any allegation or suspicion of unlawful activity must be addressed strictly through the due process of law by the competent authorities,” read its press release, which came amid the controversy surrounding vandalism at Prysm Lounge.
Dimapur Police have registered an FIR against Katho P Awomi, Finance Secretary of the Naga Students' Federation (NSF), following a complaint alleging his involvement in the act of vandalism at Prysm Lounge on 30 June.

The DCCI urged the District Administration and the Commissioner of Police to conduct a fair, impartial, and thorough investigation into the matter, assuring its full cooperation and support.
It further stated that no person, group, or organisation is above the law, and all disputes or grievances should be resolved through legal and constitutional means.
The DCCI went on to advise its members not to entertain any summons, demands, or requests for monetary contributions or donations from any organisation without proper verification. Members were encouraged to report such incidents to the DCCI and law enforcement authorities.
