The Development Association of Nagaland under the Diocese of Kohima distributed emergency relief to 100 flood-affected families in Naginimora on August 11.
DIMAPUR — The Development Association of Nagaland (DAN), the social mission arm of the Diocese of Kohima, distributed emergency relief on August 11 for households in Naginimora under the Mon district affected by the severe flash floods of July 19.
Stating that the floods had left several households in the area without shelter, essential belongings, or means of livelihood, DAN mentioned in a press release that in response it mobilised support from the Diocese of Kohima to organise emergency relief for the affected families, working closely with local leadership and the district administration to identify beneficiaries and coordinate the distribution.
The distribution was carried out at the residence of the president of the Konyak Union of Naginimora.
A total of 100 affected families identified by the Konyak Union team received support. Each household was provided with a ration kit containing groceries, along with sanitation items, mosquito nets, and mattresses to address immediate survival needs and basic hygiene concerns.

The distribution took place in the presence of Konyak Union Naginimora President Honheih Konyak, Extra Assistant Commissioner of Naginimora N Nyamok Konyak, and Pastor of Naginimora Baptist Church Rev. Wensha Konyak. Secretary of the Konyak Union, Chinge M. Konyak, coordinated with the DAN team to facilitate the smooth execution of the distribution.
Director of DAN Rev. Fr. Sajan Joseph attended the distribution and addressed the affected families, encouraging them to remain resilient and assuring them of DAN's continued solidarity and support.
