IRCS Mokokchung extends relief assistance to families affected by the recent floods in Tuli.
MOKOKCHUNG — The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Mokokchung District Branch, on Wednesday extended relief assistance to families affected by the recent floods in Tuli town, where 286 households have reportedly been affected.
A team led by Secretary Dr. SS Akaba Longchar, along with members of the managing committee, distributed essential supplies to the affected households.
IRCS Mokokchung officials said the relief effort was made possible with support from Tongpang Ozukum, Advisor for Water Resources, who initiated the request for materials from the IRCS Headquarters in Kohima. The branch expressed gratitude to the advisor for his consistent support and concern for humanitarian work in the district.
The relief materials included 50 tarpaulins, 60 blankets, 40 hygiene kits and 20 kitchen sets. In addition, cash assistance of INR 5,000, along with other contributions from well-wishers, was handed over to the affected families.
The distribution took place in the presence of the additional deputy commissioner, dobashis, church leaders and members of the Tuli Town Relief Committee.
