DIMAPUR — A district review meeting of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Mokokchung, was held on Tuesday at the conference hall of the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) Office, Mokokchung, under the chairmanship of Dr. Sentizungla Marina Yaden, CMO Mokokchung.
According to an update, the CMO, while delivering her welcome address, stated that the review meeting was not just a procedural gathering but a vital opportunity to assess progress across health indicators and programmatic targets, to identify bottlenecks and challenges faced at the block and sub-centre levels, to exchange experiences, innovations and best practices, and to strategise the way forward in a collaborative, data-driven and community-focused manner.

Dr. Marina also applauded the medical team for working tirelessly to improve the health and well-being of the community and for their continuous commitment to serve in one of the most challenging terrains and communities of the district. She said, “dedication at the grassroots level is the foundation of the district public health system.”
Dr. M A M Azhar, senior medical officer (SMO), World Health Organisation (WHO) Mokokchung, stated that Mokokchung, being a Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) district, has the WHO office established at the district headquarters mainly to focus on two areas, i.e., routine immunisation and vaccine-preventable diseases.
Block programme managers of Ongpangkong, Changtongya, Tuli, Tsurangkong, Mangkolemba and Alongkima reported on their respective block performances.
The Tattva district co-ordinator and UWIN co-ordinator also made a presentation on their activities and achievements in the district.
