DC Mon issues ban on drones near Assam Rifles camps and military establishments citing security threats.

DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, has issued an order prohibiting the flying of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over or near military establishments and other sensitive installations within the district.
The order stated that it had been brought to the notice of the authority by the Assam Rifles that unauthorised civil drone activities have been observed in and around the Assam Rifles camp area in Mon district, posing a serious threat to security, public order, and safety.

The DC directed all citizens, residents, visitors, organisations, and media persons to strictly refrain from flying, operating, or using drones/UAVs in and around Assam Rifles camps, military establishments, and other restricted, sensitive, and notified areas within Mon district.
The order further stated that any person found violating the directive shall be liable for legal action, and such drones shall be neutralised, jammed, or confiscated by security agencies as deemed necessary.
The order has come into immediate effect and shall remain in force until further orders.
