Longleng Deputy Commissioner directs strict monitoring of LPG and petroleum sales.

DIMAPUR — In pursuance of the directive received from the Food & Civil Supplies department regarding monitoring of distribution of LPG and other petroleum products and prevention of hoarding, black marketing and overpricing, the deputy commissioner of Longleng has notified that all LPG cylinders and petroleum products shall be sold strictly at the government prescribed rates through authorised dealers only.
In a circular, the DC also informed that hoarding, black marketing, artificial scarcity, overpricing, or unauthorised sale by any dealer, distributor, or individual is strictly prohibited and punishable under law, a DIPR report stated.
Consumers have been advised to purchase LPG and petroleum products only from authorised dealers and to insist on proper cash memo/receipt for every purchase.

The district administration, police, Food & Civil Supplies department and Legal Metrology department shall conduct regular inspections and surprise checks to ensure compliance.
It further informed that any complaint regarding overpricing, irregular supply, or malpractices may be reported to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng.
Strict legal action shall be initiated against any person or entity found violating the above provisions under relevant laws, the circular stated.
The DC urged public to extend full cooperation to the authorities in ensuring fair and smooth distribution of LPG and other petroleum products in the district.
