DIMAPUR — The Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) and the Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) on Friday opposed the proposed launch of Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF) scheduled for March 14 at Senden Riju, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, and warned their members not to associate with the organisation.
In a joint press communiqué issued on Friday, the two youth bodies said the proposed organisation was being formed without the support, consultation or consent of the Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) and the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH), and therefore “cannot rightfully claim to represent the youths of the Western Nagas.”
The organisations also cautioned that any member found defying the standing resolution of the apex bodies by associating with the proposed body would face disciplinary action in accordance with the rules of the respective organisations.

The statement recalled that the CPO and WSH had earlier adopted a joint resolution on January 17, 2020 restraining members under their jurisdictions from forming or affiliating with organisations that may be detrimental to the unity, welfare and growth of society.
It added that the CYO and WSYF had subsequently reiterated the resolution during meetings held on October 23, 2024 and June 21, 2025, cautioning members against associating with any organisation formed without the knowledge and approval of the parent bodies.
“The CYO and WSYF strongly denounce the formation of the so-called WNYF and make it clear that such organisations will not be permitted to function within their jurisdiction,” the statement said.
