
Dr. J Alam chairs the Nagaland Solar Mission review meeting
with officials at the CS conference hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima,
on Wednesday.
- DIMAPUR — Chief Secretary Dr. J Alam held a
review meeting with the Nagaland Solar Mission at the CS conference hall,
Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima, on Wednesday to discuss and update the
progress of the Nagaland Solar Mission, which is in convergence with PM Surya
Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) Rooftop Solar (RTS).
- The meeting was attended by Secretary Power Asangla Imti,
Additional Chief Engineer (Distribution and Revenue), team leader of the
Nagaland Solar Mission, Lobosang, and other officials from the Power
department, according to a DIPR report.
- During the meeting, Dr. Alam underscored the need to
disseminate information and extensively create public awareness campaigns to
ensure the maximum number of people can avail themselves of the scheme.

- He also directed the department to make the portal
attractive and accessible, using simple language so that more people can
understand and register for the scheme. He hopes that, with the support of the
state government, the Nagaland Solar Mission will be successfully implemented
across the state.
- Lobosang provided an update on the progress of the mission
and informed that the smart meter will be given free of cost to the customer
when installing rooftop solar.
- He added that the smart prepaid meters, which can be
configured for net metering, will be provided by the department under the RDSS
scheme; only the standard meter rent, as per the tariff notification, will be
charged monthly.
- It has been mentioned that the Solar Mission, in convergence
with PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, aims to promote rooftop solar panel installation
in residential households across the state.
- Consumers can register online and also obtain all necessary
information through the portal pmsuryaghar.gov.in.
