DIMAPUR — A school-level sports debate competition was organised on the occasion of National Sports Day by CRPF 78 Bn, Zubza, Kohima, in collaboration with Christian Mission School, Zubza, on Saturday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.


According to a DIPR report, Second in Command, 78 Bn CRPF, RV Philip, was the chief guest on the occasion.

The debate competition was held to promote love for sports among the youth and to create awareness about its importance for a healthy life. A total of six participants took part in the event, speaking alternately for and against the motion.


Speaking on the occasion, Philip highlighted the importance of sports in life and how they help build team spirit and leadership qualities and improve health. He also noted that sports help individuals face success and defeat equally.
