DIMAPUR — A consultative meeting involving heads of offices, village council chairmen (VCC), VDB secretaries, and civil society organisations from Tening and Nsong was held at the Town Hall, Tening, on August 29.

The meeting, chaired by K Furhesie Nyuwi, additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Tening, deliberated on the adoption of the New Peren Junction to Tening road under the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Peren, according to an update.

It was attended by 63 participants, who unanimously endorsed the adoption of the road project and stressed the need for collective participation from all stakeholders to ensure its success.

To facilitate smooth implementation, a Sub-Division Working Committee was constituted with the ADC Tening as convenor, SDO (Road and Bridges) Tening as secretary, and representatives, including all heads of offices, VCC, and church executives from Tening and Nsong. Village councils across the subdivision have been tasked with assisting the Survey Team within their respective jurisdictions.

The Survey Team will submit its report and estimates to the Sub-Division Working Committee, which will then communicate with village councils for further deliberation on contributions.

In his closing remarks, ADC Nyuwi urged all stakeholders to participate and contribute towards the initiative, emphasising the importance of community involvement in achieving the development goal.
