COS of Spear Corps Maj. Gen. Naveen Kumar Nijhawan visits Sainik School Punglwa and interacted with the cadets.

DIMAPUR — The Spear Corps’ Chief of Staff (COS) and chairman of Local Board of Administration (LBA), Maj. Gen. Naveen Kumar Nijhawan, paid a maiden visit to Sainik School Punglwa on Wednesday.
An update from the school stated that the General Officer was received by the school’s principal, Col. (Dr) Smita Misra, and subsequently escorted by the cadets of Equestrian Club to the War Memorial, where he paid homage to the brave hearts by laying a wreath.
He was then given a guard of honour led by cadet Edemi Nuh of Class 10, while cadet Angela and cadet Akhumvi familiarised the General Officer about the school existing infrastructure on the School’s Sand Model.

Maj. Gen. Nijhawan was briefed on the school's activities, academic, UPSC performance, on-going projects and achievements of the school. He lauded team SSPN and the efforts put in for the holistic growth of the cadets and the school as a whole. He also visited the academic block, hostels, project site, cadet’s mess and sports field during his visit.
The visit culminated with an interaction with the cadets and staff, where the General Officer reminded the cadets the need to imbibe self-discipline and hard work to achieve success in life. He also encouraged the teachers to spend valuable and constructive time with the cadets.
It further stated that the visit provided an opportunity for the General Officer to engage with the school community and share his insights for further development and progress of the school.
