A consultative meeting with civil society organisations on Census 2027 was held in Wokha.

DIMAPUR — A consultative meeting with civil society organisations (CSOs) on Census 2027 was held at the deputy commissioner’s (DC) conference hall in Wokha on Tuesday to discuss various components of the upcoming census.
DC Wokha and Principal Census Officer K Mhathung Tsanglao addressed the gathering and highlighted various components of the upcoming census.
According to a DIPR report, he shared details on the history of census operations, the population figures as per the Census 2011, the total charges in the district, and the number of enumerators and supervisors to be engaged for Census 2027.
Issues relating to network connectivity and geo-tagging of census households in shadow areas were also discussed during the meeting.
The meeting included doubt-clearing sessions where CSOs raised queries on different aspects of the census process. The DC pointed out the importance of efficiency, accuracy, and coordination in ensuring that no household is left out during enumeration.
