Condolences pour in following demise of Nokpangmenla Chingwang

  • DIMAPUR — Different political parties have expressed condolences over the passing of Nokpangmenla Chingwang (Amenla), wife of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) President and former Lok Sabha MP N Chingwang Konyak. She died in Guwahati on Thursday morning.

  • NDPP: In a message issued by the NDPP Media & Communication Committee, it was stated that throughout the tumultuous political journey of its president, his wife stood firmly by his side as his strongest support, friend, confidante, and guide.

  • Describing her as a graceful lady with a charming demeanour, the message stated that she was the epitome of the woman behind every successful man. It added that she was the perfect host to all who visited her home, making them feel not only comfortable but also important and welcome.

  • “Party men and women considered her as a motherly figure and shall miss her absence dearly,” it read, while praying that the Almighty grants solace and comfort to her near and dear ones during this time of grief and that the departed soul may rest in eternal peace.

  • The NDPP Longleng Region also extended its deepest condolences to Chingwang.

  • CL John: Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Village Guard, CL John, in a condolence note, stated that throughout her life, the late Amenla Chingwang proved herself to be sincere, responsible, hard-working, and a truly committed wife, mother, and grandmother who stood behind the success of her husband’s political career and prominence as a public figure.

  • He said that although her death has created a vacuum that cannot be filled, her life and contributions should be celebrated with gratitude to God and through prayer.

  • Stating that he and his family share their deepest sorrow and sympathy with the bereaved family in this hour of grief, he prayed that the Almighty God grant peace and solace to the departed soul.

  • NPF: Naga People’s Front (NPF) described her as a woman of admirable dignity, warmth, and quiet strength, adding that her passing is an irreparable loss not only to her immediate family but to the wider Naga community.

  • The party extended its deepest sympathies to her husband and the bereaved family during this time of grief, as well as heartfelt prayers for its president, Apong Pongener, and his family, as the late Amenla was the first cousin of his wife.

  • NPCC: President of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, S Supongmeren Jamir, in a condolence note, while expressing sadness, stated that she was known as a kind, gentle, and dignified woman who stood as a strong support to her family. Her untimely demise is a great loss not only to her family and loved ones but also to all those who knew her personally.

  • “In this moment of profound grief, my thoughts and prayers are with Shri. N. Chingwang Konyak and the entire bereaved family. I pray that God gives them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time,” the message read.

  • Janata Dal (United): The Janata Dal (United) Nagaland extended heartfelt condolences to Chingwang and his family, praying that the Almighty grant them strength, comfort, and peace to cope with this irreparable loss.

  • It also added that her memory will be cherished, and her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

  • EKU: The Eastern Konyak Union (EKU), in a message, stated that the union was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Amenla.

  • It mentioned that in this moment of profound grief, their thoughts and prayers are with the former MP and the entire bereaved family. The EKU prayed that God grant them strength, comfort, and peace during this time of mourning.
