- DIMAPUR — Chief
Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed grief at the death of Amenla, wife of
Chingwang Konyak, Convenor of the People's Democratic Alliance and President of
the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), who passed away on
Thursday.
- In a message, the chief minister described Amenla as a woman
of grace, warmth, and unwavering faith.
- “As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a
steadfast pillar of strength for her family—radiating love and resilience in
both times of joy and hardship. Her deep reverence for God was evident in the
values she instilled in her children—teaching them to lead lives rooted in
humility, empathy, and integrity.
- “She stood by my dear friend and colleague, Mr. Chingwang
Konyak, with quiet strength and unwavering support throughout his distinguished
public service career spanning over five decades. She was truly his pillar of
strength,” the message read.

- Rio reflected on the close and cherished bond their families
had shared over the years and said that they treasure the many moments spent
together.
- “Her warmth, generosity, and affectionate nature will be
fondly remembered and deeply missed. Though her absence leaves an irreplaceable
void, we take comfort in celebrating her remarkable life and giving thanks for
the blessing of having known her.
- “My family joins me in extending our deepest condolences to
the bereaved family. We pray that the Almighty grant you strength, comfort, and
peace in this time of sorrow,” he stated.
