Combined Annual Training Camp underway in Wokha for NCC cadets

DIMAPUR — The second edition of the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC), organised by the 24 Nagaland Battalion NCC, Kohima, is underway at the Assam Rifles Complex in Wokha district. The camp commenced on October 4 and will conclude on October 13.


According to an update, around 400 Senior Division, Senior Wing, Junior Division, and Junior Wing cadets are participating in the camp aimed at imparting collective training, discipline, and shared responsibility to enhance their knowledge and skills in military subjects such as weapon training, firing, drill, and health and hygiene.


The training will prepare the cadets for their forthcoming certificate examinations.


On October 7, Colonel Shenjamo Ngullie, officiating group commander, Kohima Group, visited the camp and was briefed about the various training activities, competitions, and administrative arrangements made to ensure nutritious meals and a high standard of hygiene for the cadets.

The officiating group commander appreciated the training and administrative arrangements and stressed the importance of holistic development during the camp, encouraging a healthy competitive spirit among the cadets.


Addressing the cadets, Colonel Ngullie urged them to gain knowledge from the various lectures and activities and to prepare well for the forthcoming A, B, and C certification examinations.


Officers from the Army Recruiting Office, Rangapahar, presented information on job opportunities in the Indian Armed Forces. Several lectures and demonstrations are scheduled in line with the syllabus and curriculum as per the NCC manuals.


It was maintained that the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha; Superintendent of Police, Wokha; Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), Kohima; and NCC schools and colleges are working together to ensure the successful conduct of the camp.
