DIMAPUR — Athletes from The Combat Academy secured two victories at the second edition of the Elite Contender Series held in Kolkata on June 27.
According to an update from the manager of The Combat Academy, Victor Angami, the event is one of the platforms for amateur combat sports in India, allowing athletes from across the nation to compete against emerging fighters.
On the preliminary card, Vivoto Tsukru defeated his opponent via technical knockout in the first round. On the main card, Lichonthung earned a split-decision victory after a three-round contest.
Also competing on the main card, Wungvamsem Raman suffered a referee stoppage in the second round after sustaining two cuts above both eyes.
