College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry Jalukie and CMO Peren district hold workshop on healthy living with expert talks and free health screenings.

DIMAPUR — The College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Peren district, organised a one-day workshop on the theme “Healthy living: choose health over habit — oil and sugar” at the college seminar hall on Saturday.
According to an update, short speeches were delivered on the occasion by Dr. Chingakham Sima Chanu, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS), Home Science, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dimapur, on healthy living, and Dr G Viholi Sema, District Programme Officer (DPO), Non-Communicable Disease (NCD), Peren, discussed non-communicable diseases and how they can be prevented.
Dr. Imnuksungba, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) Officer, CMO, Peren district, discussed in detail rabies and how it can be prevented. Dr. Ragubir Singh, assistant professor, Department of Veterinary Public Health, discussed various zoonotic diseases and how they can be prevented.
The programme was attended by faculty members, staff, and students of the college. As part of the event, free screening for diabetes and hypertension was provided by a dedicated medical team from the Office of the CMO.
