CM Neiphiu Rio reviews Nagaland's disaster response as heavy rain triggers landslides, floods and widespread disruption across the state
DIMAPUR — With memories of past monsoon disasters still fresh and this year's rains once again leaving a trail of deaths and destruction across Nagaland, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday reviewed the state's disaster response and ongoing relief operations.
In a post on X, Rio said that he convened a meeting with the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) to assess the evolving weather situation and the impact of heavy rainfall across the state.
According to the chief minister, emergency response teams have been mobilised to ensure timely relief for affected communities, restore road connectivity and safeguard lives in areas hit by floods and landslides.

The review comes as several districts, including Mon and Mokokchung, continue to grapple with widespread damage to roads, bridges and public infrastructure following days of incessant rainfall.
The state government has stepped up relief and restoration efforts in coordination with district administrations and disaster response agencies as monsoon-related emergencies persist.
