- DIMAPUR — The
Chümoukedima Chamber of Commerce & Trade Association (CCC&TA) has
announced an indefinite shutter-down of businesses within its jurisdiction,
escalating their protest over the lack of adequate representation for the
business community in urban local bodies (ULBs).
- A press statement from the association on Sunday reiterated
its demand for equal representation, reminding the state government that it has
been repeatedly urged to address this issue.

- The association claimed that the Urban Development and
Municipal Affairs department, acting on behalf of the government of Nagaland,
has been requested to take appropriate steps to fulfil this “genuine and
legitimate demand” within a two-week timeframe.
- It expressed solidarity with other district chambers and
voiced strong resentment against what they perceived as a “lackadaisical
attitude” and the government's “turning a deaf ear” to their concerns.
