- DIMAPUR — A video
circulating on social media showing a student being verbally and physically
assaulted by a group of girls has sparked public concern and prompted a swift
response from the Chümoukedima Town Students’ Union (CTSU), which has issued a
stern warning to the school believed to be involved.
- In the widely shared video, approximately nine to ten girls
are seen surrounding another girl, who is subjected to physical aggression,
including shoving and hair-pulling, along with verbal abuse.
- Some of the girls can be heard using foul language and
threatening to make the video viral.
- While most of those involved appear to be in casual
clothing, one of the girls seen manhandling the victim is wearing a uniform
believed to be from North Town Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima.
- In a statement issued on Sunday, the CTSU demanded that the
school identify all those involved and share their details with the union.

- It warned that no leniency would be shown and called for
swift disciplinary action.
- “The CTSU is issuing
a stern warning to the school that the perpetrators are to be identified and
their names and identity are to be brought to the union,” the statement read.
“There will be no leniency for this behaviour, and we expect the school to take
prompt and appropriate action.”
- The CTSU also stated it will continue to monitor the
situation closely and urged full cooperation from the school authorities.
- Attempts were made by this newspaper to contact the
administration of North Town Higher Secondary School for a response, but they
were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
