DIMAPUR — The
District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings for the districts of
Chümoukedima, Phek, and Zunheboto were held on Thursday.
Chümoukedima: The Chümoukedima DPDB meeting was held under
the chairmanship of the Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs and
DPDB Chairman, Zhaleo Rio, at the DC office.
According to a DIPR report, during the meeting, the chairman
directed all the concerned departments to increase their level of preparedness
ahead of the onset of the monsoon and instructed the departments to be ready to
face monsoon-related emergencies in the district.
He requested the Department of Agriculture to provide
quality saplings and seedlings to the farmers, make villages aware of the
schemes, and bring the action plans, activities, and target assistance to the
attention of the elected representatives.
Advisor for Industries and Commerce Hekani Jakhalu, in her
address, appealed to the department to collaborate and devise a proper plan, as
many villages are still unaware of the schemes and activities.
She said that if they fail to serve the public, then they
would be failing in their role as government servants, as their core responsibility
is to serve the public. On monsoon preparedness, she assured that, on her part,
she would appeal to the concerned department to provide assistance to the
affected families under the District Disaster Response Fund in a timely manner.
The house also discussed and deliberated on various agendas
and forwarded them for approval to the government: upgradation of Jehovah Jireh
School, Videma Village; NST Service Station for Chümoukedima district;
recognition of Z Rio village; recognition of Lokheto Village; allotment of land
for the establishment of a flatted factory complex at Medziphema town; proposal
for the creation of a GPS at Chümoukedima 'A' village; posting of an ACP in
Medziphema HQ.
The agenda on the change of village nomenclature from Sirhi
Angami to Medziphema 'A' Village has been deferred to the next meeting for
further deliberations.
It was mentioned that the DDMA would present a PowerPoint
presentation on monsoon preparedness in the next DPDB meeting.
Phek: Phek DPDB held its monthly meeting under the
chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the DPDB, Phek,
John Tsulise Sangtam, in the presence of the Minister for Power and
Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye, and MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero at the DC conference
hall.
Kenye, in his address, requested the district administration
and Police to take intensive care in all its bordering areas with Manipur,
where the state is under President's Rule.
A detailed PowerPoint presentation of the department
activities of Industry and Commerce was made by Visakhole Naki, Functional
Manager, Chozuba, on their functional matters.
The meeting discussed agendas and agreed to recommend the
following to the government for consideration: a proposal for the establishment
of a new government primary school at Tepfulomi village under ADC Chozuba; a
proposal for the establishment of a town council under the Nagaland Municipal
Act 2023; and a proposal for naming the two-lane road from the Sedzu/Yeti river
to Zunheboto Town as Chakhesang-Sumi Brotherhood Road.
The meeting also deliberated on the District AIDS Control
Society Unit and discussed preventive measures and awareness regarding the
increasing number of AIDS-affected people in Phek district.
Zunheboto: The Zunheboto DPDB meeting was held at the DC
conference hall under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner and Vice
Chairman of the DPDB, Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali.
The board deliberated and recommended the following agendas:
upgrading of Cedar School at Aghunato; surveyed map and land ownership certificate
for the proposed site for the construction of an Integrated Ayush Hospital in
Zunheboto district; Change of village name to Imlomi; single-use plastic ban by
ADC Zunheboto; construction of drainage at South Point (W) Colony, Zunheboto;
and registration of the Leviaa Music Institute Society in Zunheboto.
On the proposal forwarded by the ADC and executive officer
(ZTC) regarding the purchase of land for the Zunheboto Town Council office, the
board decided to constitute a committee for the project and forwarded the
agenda to the next DPDB meeting for further procedures.
