DCPU Zunheboto conducted child protection awareness programmes in Akuluto and Satakha, sensitising students, teachers and VLCPC members on child rights, safety and Child Helpline 1098.

DIMAPUR — The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Zunheboto, under the Department of Social Welfare, conducted an awareness and sensitisation programme for the Village Level Child Protection Committee (VLCPC) at Akuluto town on Tuesday.
The programme focused on child rights and legislation, child protection mechanisms, Child Helpline 1098 services, and the roles and responsibilities of the VLCPC in safeguarding children, according to a DIPR report.
Ruzonuo Rita Rutsa, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO); Lauying Konyak, Legal-cum-Probation Officer (LCPO); Omekali, Child Helpline Supervisor; and Tokato, Child Helpline Case Worker, served as resource persons.

Workshop on digital resources for Nagaland languages begins at Tetso College
The DCPU, along with Child Helpline personnel, also conducted awareness programmes at Highland School and GHSS School Colony, Satakha; GMS Old Town, Satakha; Royal School, Akuluto; GHSS Akuluto; and Hill to Children Home School, Akuluto.
The sessions sensitised students on child protection issues, including safe and unsafe touch, Child Helpline 1098 services, bullying and cyberbullying, child rights and protection laws, and available child protection mechanisms and support services.
The programmes aimed to empower children, teachers and community-level stakeholders with knowledge to prevent abuse, identify risks, and ensure the safety, dignity and protection of every child.
